INTERNATIONAL FASHION REVOLUTION ASSEMBLY
Premier! This was the first Fashion Revolution Assembly hosted by Future Fashion Forward e.V., bringing together members throughout Germany and country coordinators from Switzerland, Sweden, Luxenbourg, Iran, Laos, Croatia, Morocco, Argentina, Norway and also our surprise guest from England, Orsola de Castro, Founder/CreativeDirector of Fashion Revolution. We exchanged knowledge and experiences from the past years and discussed all the nitty gritty details that come along with such an organisationally complex capaign, such as how to coordinate social media, funding possibilities, how to generate finances for covering costs and whom it is ok to partner and collaborate with and with whom not.
Check our previous interview with country coordinator Nora Milena Vehling on Fashion Revolution Germany to understand the structure behind the campaign and how it’s organized.
FASHION REVOLUTION MOVE
It takes 55 people to make one t-shirt. That’s what Hessnatur calculated for this conceptual fair fashion demonstration. Fifty-five people were dressed in a fair fashion t-shirt (sponsored by Hessnatur) and each was marked with a number to represent one worker in the production chain. The move started at Friedrichstadt Pallast, down one of Berlins popular Shopping streets Friedrichstrasse, with a stop at the Mall of Berlin where Kerry Schwettmann, co-founder of expansion.eco and activist at extinction rebellion held a heart felt speach calling all citizens, to take action and raise awareness to the climate crisis. Final stop was at the Tilla-Durieux-Park right next to the Potsdammer Platz Arkaden - another center feeding to the fast consumer.
